Goloka Vrindavan is Krishna’s own planet, above the material universes, where the pastimes of Vrindavan go on eternally. The Brahma-samhita describes it as a lotus-shaped realm of cintamani stone where the cows are surabhi cows and every word is a song. It is not a metaphor in this tradition; it is a place, and the goal.
