When Hiranyakashipu struck the pillar and demanded to know where God was hiding, Narasimhadev came out of it — neither man nor beast, at twilight which is neither day nor night, on a threshold which is neither inside nor out. Every clause of the demon’s boon was honoured and none of it saved him. This artwork takes that moment.
This is the Narasimhadev Appears from the Pillar artwork on a jigsaw puzzle. A jigsaw puzzle in a printed box, with piece counts from 120 for children up to 252, 500 and 1000 for people who take it seriously. The pieces are sturdy card with a matte finish that does not reflect lamplight. Made to order. A good Ekadashi evening, and a good way to look at a painting properly.
