Krishna is Gopala, the keeper of cows, and the Bhagavatam spends more time on him in the pastures than anywhere else: a boy walking home at dusk behind the herd, a calf in his arms, his flute at his mouth and the dust of Vrindavan rising around him. This scene comes back more often than any other in the shop, and it remains the most loved artwork here.
This is the Krishna with a Calf artwork on a japa bead bag. Choose small, about 23 cm, for a standard tulasi mala, or medium, about 27 cm, for neem beads or a mala with a large head bead. Each bag is sewn from printed cotton with a separate finger pocket, a neck strap and a drawstring closure, stitched in small batches and shipped from our own stock. Hand wash cool and air-dry.
