The serpent Kaliya had poisoned a bend of the Yamuna until nothing could live there. Krishna climbed a kadamba tree, jumped in, let the snake coil around him, and then danced on its hoods until it surrendered. A boy dancing, entirely unbothered, on the head of something enormous.
This is the Krishna Kaliya Lila artwork on a japa bead bag. The bag is sewn from printed cotton with a separate finger pocket, a neck strap and a drawstring closure, in the small size, about 23 cm, which fits a standard tulasi mala comfortably. Unlike our print-on-demand items, japa bags are stitched in small batches and ship from our own stock. Hand wash cool and air-dry, keeping the beads out of the water.
